Terms of Use

Last updated 1 July 2026. These terms apply to everyone who uses the community platform.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account on the Vaigyanik Ji Foundation community platform, or by using any part of it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify registered members by email at least 14 days before it takes effect.

2. Who can join

Membership is open to students, alumni, educators and researchers connected to the Foundation's partner institutions and programmes. Every account is verified against institutional records before the profile becomes visible to other members.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Accounts must be registered in your own name.

3. How members are expected to behave

This platform exists so that people can ask for help without embarrassment and give it without obligation. That only works if the room stays civil.

You agree not to:

  • Harass, demean or target any member, on the platform or through contact details found on it
  • Use the directory to send unsolicited commercial messages or recruitment spam
  • Scrape, export or resell member data by any means, automated or otherwise
  • Post content you do not have the right to share, including copyrighted or confidential material
  • Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, institution or employer
  • Post job listings that are misleading, unpaid where payment is implied, or discriminatory

4. Mentorship

Mentors on this platform are volunteers. They are not employees or agents of the Foundation, and the Foundation does not pay them or supervise the content of their advice.

Mentorship is offered in good faith and is not professional, legal, medical or financial advice. Decisions you take following a mentoring conversation remain your own.

Members must not solicit or offer payment for mentorship arranged through this platform.

5. Content you post

You retain ownership of everything you post. By posting, you grant the Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the platform for as long as your account remains active.

We may remove content that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why. Repeated or serious breaches may result in suspension or removal of your account.

6. Donations and fundraising

Donations are made to named campaigns and applied to the stated purpose. Each campaign publishes its goal, its running total and periodic updates.

Donations are non-refundable once processed, except where a payment was made in error. Contact us within 30 days if that applies to you.

Where a campaign closes without meeting its goal, funds are applied to the same purpose at a reduced scale, or transferred to a related campaign with donor notice.

7. Liability

The platform is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free.

To the extent permitted by law, the Foundation is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, from advice received through it, or from your dealings with other members.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud caused by our negligence.

8. Ending your membership

You may close your account at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us. We remove your profile from the directory immediately and delete your personal data in line with the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms. Where we do, we will explain why and, where appropriate, give you an opportunity to respond.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes fall to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.

Questions about these terms can be sent to mohanish@vaigyanikji.com.
