Who we are

About the Vaigyanik Ji Foundation

A science communication initiative preserving India's scientific heritage and building a mentorship network that outlasts any one cohort.

About VJF

The Vaigyanik Ji Foundation is a science communication initiative founded by Mohanish Borana in 2023, focused on science and technology, science education, Indian science, and bridging the gap between science and traditional knowledge. It aims to preserve and promote India's scientific, cultural, and natural heritage and foster scientific thinking in young minds by providing accessible information and resources.

The Foundation works to make scientific concepts understandable and relevant to everyday life through research-based content, storytelling, multimedia outreach, and interactive learning experiences. It highlights India's rich scientific legacy — from ancient discoveries to modern innovations — while encouraging curiosity, innovation, and fact-based thinking among students, educators, and lifelong learners.

By building bridges between traditional knowledge systems and contemporary science, Vaigyanik Ji Foundation seeks to correct misinformation, encourage critical thinking, and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators. Its growing platform serves as a collaborative space for science enthusiasts, experts, and institutions to share knowledge, explore ideas, and contribute to a scientifically aware and culturally connected society.

What we hold to

Four things we will not trade away

These are the commitments we are willing to be held to publicly.

  • Evidence before opinion

Everything we publish is sourced, checked and open to correction. Curiosity is welcome; misinformation is not.

  • Access as a default

No paywalls between a student and the guidance they need. Mentorship on this platform is free to request.

  • Heritage with rigour

India's scientific legacy deserves serious scholarship — celebrated honestly, examined critically.

  • Reciprocity

Every member who receives guidance is invited to give it back. The network only compounds if the loop closes.
