Postdoctoral Fellow — Observational Astrophysics

About the role

A three-year position on time-domain surveys, with guaranteed observing time on the 2m telescope.

What you will do

• Lead a transient follow-up programme using guaranteed telescope time
• Develop and maintain the survey's reduction pipeline
• Publish first-author work and mentor visiting students
• Take a share of observatory duty at 4,500m altitude

What we are looking for

• PhD in astronomy, astrophysics or physics awarded within the last five years
• Experience with photometric and spectroscopic reduction
• Python and familiarity with astropy
• Medical fitness for extended work at high altitude
